Celebrities Partner With Stuart Weitzman
(WWD)
“Stuart Weitzman has joined forces with young Hollywood to raise money for ovarian cancer. Scarlett Johansson, Hayden Panettiere, Olivia Palermo and Michelle Trachtenberg each worked with Weitzman to co-design a footwear style in which all proceeds will benefit Marsha Moses’ research in ovarian cancer at the Folkman Institute in Boston. The collection will be available in September at stuartweitzman.com, as well as Weitzman’s flagship stores in New York, Beverly Hills and Chicago.”

Karl Lagerfeld To Carine Roitfeld: ‘It Would Be Difficult To Have An Ugly Daughter’ (Huffington Post)
“We cannot make this stuff up. In one of the best interviews we’ve read all year, Karl Lagerfeld sat down with former Vogue Paris editor-in-chief Carine Roitfeld for Interview‘s September issue to talk about, well, everything: shooting nudes, their artistic inspirations and that catchphrase that just won’t go away, “porno chic.” One of the best parts, however, came when the Chanel designer brought up the topic of children: “No one can say that you don’t take care of them. You’re also lucky because they are very beautiful. It would have been difficult to have an ugly daughter.”

Zara Under Investigation For Using Slave Labor (Styleite)
“Zara is not having a good week. On Tuesday, Brazilian federal prosecutors launched an investigation into the Spanish brand after receiving a tip that its one of its suppliers uses slave labor. Women’s Wear Daily reports that investigators for the Brazilian government recently raided a number of sweatshops in Sao Paolo State, where they confiscated garments bearing the Zara label. The same investigators are said to have found 16 people working in the shops for the equivalent of $130 to $150 a month.”

Tiffany’s Blue Could Be At Risk If Louboutin Loses (Vogue UK)
“An expert in US fashion law has stated that even Tiffany & Co’s trademark blue boxes could be at risk of copying if Louboutin’s trademark case against Yves Saint Laurent falls apart. “Louboutin’s nightmare is that every fast-fashion retailer will begin stirring up vats of red dye because it believes the trademark is officially cancelled or is about to be.”

Charlotte Ronson Enters The Beauty Realm With A New Collection At Sephora (Refinery 29)
“The fashion-designer-turned-beauty-entrepreneur crowd just added another key player to its ranks: Charlotte Ronson. Launching in September (but available online now!), the designer’s collection includes eyeshadow palettes and lip glosses—in hues inspired by her friends and family—plus, a hair product for easy, tousled waves (a look Ronson pulls off impeccably), and a camo clutch makeup bag (because what fashion designer’s makeup collection would be complete with out one?).”
