The Academy Awards 2010 Best Dressed

March 8, 2010

There really weren’t that many fashion faux pas at this years 82nd Academy Awards. Most of Hollywood played it save and sparkled on the red carpet and for the few that took a risk, I definitely think it paid off. Common trends seen on the red carpet included metallic and jewel tones, red lips and nude nails.

Just Jacqui’s Top 10 Best Dressed at this Years Oscars

Sarah Jessica Parker in Chanel Couture
Ok, I know many of you may disagree with me but I personally loved SJP in this Chanel gown. I love the light yellow color with the metallic detailing and the back is to die for. Say what you will about this outfit, but in my eyes Sarah Jessica Parker and Chanel Couture could never do wrong!

Tom Ford in Tom Ford
Can you say perfection in a tux! It’s all about the details for Mr. Ford, the lapels, bow tie, flower, handkerchief, and diamond buttons. Also, not sure if anyone else noticed, Tom is wearing heals.

Cameron Diaz in Oscar de la Renta
Cameron is channeling old Hollywood in this gorgeous metallic Oscar de la Renta gown. I think it’s the best Cameron has looked in a long time, reminiscent of her Mask days.

Jennifer Lopez in Armani Prive
Jennifer Lopez looked radiant in this iridescent pink Armani Prive gown. The strapless dress hugged her curves and at the same time was dramatic with a structured train and bodice. ”It has to have that wow factor” she told ABC on the red carpet pre-show, about what makes a great Oscar dress, and this dress defintiely was!

Sandra Bullock in Marchesa
Sandra looked elegant and beautiful in this metallic Marchesa gown. When you look at the close up shots the floral detailing is unbelievable. I also love her simple understated accessories (her tiffany earrings were a gift from husband Jesse James) and her clutch.

Rachel McAdams in Elie Saab Haute Couture
Rachel McAdams looked like a princess in this flowy pastel Elie Saab Haute Couture dress. The whole look was pulled together perfectly from her dress, to her matching earrings and handbag, to her impeccably done hair and makeup.

Demi Moore in Atelier Versace
How old is Demi Moore? The woman who ages in reverse looked incredible in this Atelier Versace ruffled blush gown. Also, I absolutely love her shoes.

Diane Kruger in Chanel Couture
The more I look at this dress, the more I love it. The fashion forward actress looks absolutely gorgeous in this Chanel Couture ruffled gown. Loving her Chanel clutch as well.

Maggie Gyllenhaal in Dries Van Noten
Maggie Gyllenhaal looked beautiful in this bright Dries Van Noten printed gown, showing off her svelte figure. I love that she chose the different route with edgy designer Dries Van Noten, who just happens to be one of Maggie’s favorites.

Zoe Saldana in Givenchy Haute Couture
The brave and beautiful fashion forward, Zoe Saldana, took a chance and it paid off! She looked beautiful in this daring lavender Givenchy Haute Couture gown, which came straight off the runway. With flawless hair and makeup, I applaud her for taking a risk.

Honorable Mentions

In no particular order, Helen Mirren in Badgley Mischka, Miley Cyrus in Jenny Packham, Elizabeth Banks in Atelier Versace, Anna Kendrick in Elie Saab, Queen Latifah in Badgley Mischka, Meryl Streep in Chris March (Project Runway designer,) Zoe Kravitz in Alexis Mabille, Carey Mulligan in Prada, Sigourney Weaver in Lanvin and Gabourey Sidibe in Marchesa.
